Co-Founder and Chair of the Board, Jazz Pharmaceuticals
Mr. Cozadd co-founded Jazz Pharmaceuticals in 2003, serving initially as Executive Chairman. He then served as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer from 2009 until his retirement as Chief Executive Officer in August of 2025. He continues to serve as Chairperson of the Board.
From 1991 until 2001, he held various positions with ALZA Corporation, a pharmaceutical company acquired by Johnson & Johnson, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for research and development, manufacturing and sales and marketing. Previously at ALZA Corporation he held the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Planning and Analysis. Mr. Cozadd serves on the board of the non-profit organization SFJAZZ.
He received a B.S. from Yale University with a double major in molecular biophysics and biochemistry and economics and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
