Position Title
Chair, UC Davis Foundation Board
Debby Stegura currently serves as the chair of the UC Davis Foundation Board and is a past president of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA). A longtime advocate of the University of California, Debby served as a UC Alumni Regent from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2021, sitting on the Academic and Student Affairs, Investments, and Public Engagement and Development (vice chair) committees of the UC Board of Regents. She was also president of the Alumni Associations of the UC (AAUC) during her term as Alumni Regent, and is a co-founding member of the Women & Philanthropy initiative at UC Davis.
She and her family created two endowments at UC Davis for student support: one for scholarships, and one for grants of small amounts of money to help student retention, with preference to first generation and AB540 students. She also supports the Dream Scholarship, which assists undocumented students.
A first-generation college student, Debby earned bachelor’s degrees with honors in political science and mass communication from UC Davis, then went on to earn a law degree from the University of Southern California.
Previously a business litigator in private practice in Los Angeles, she now spends most of her time pursuing her passions — such as issues affecting education and the environment — through impactful volunteer work. She currently serves on the City of Rolling Hills Estates Council, where she also chairs the Environmental Advisory Committee. Previously, Debby served two terms as a publicly elected member of the Board of Library Trustees at the Palos Verdes Library District. Debby and her husband, Larry Vanden Bos, have three grown children.
