Jason Stewart was named Assistant Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff in August 2023. Stewart is Assistant Director in the Office of Budget and Institutional Analysis within Finance, Operations and Administration. He supports decision-making with data and analysis related to faculty, staff and students.

As Interim University Registrar from April to November 2022, Stewart led the department while the university searched for a permanent registrar. He joined UC Davis in 2009 from the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. He also served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mongolia.

Stewart holds a master’s degree in public management from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Memphis.
