The UC Davis Fire Department sent an engine and four firefighters to the Camp Fire in November of 2018. Back on campus, other firefighters ran a relief effort for the fire victims. “In addition to the Type 1 fire engine we have assigned to the Camp Fire, we felt the need to do more for the victims of this devastating event,” said Paul Rush, one of the organizers. Rush and firefighters Corrie Beall and Kyle Dubs launched a donation drive the next day, asking for new and gently used goods. They ended up filling a trailer, pickup truck and 200 boxes of donations in four days.
