About the position

The Vice Chancellor (VC) for Human Health Sciences reports directly to the Chancellor. The position has primary responsibility for the strategic direction of UC Davis Health which includes:

  • UC Davis Medical Center, a 651-bed acute care hospital with a network of 75 clinics offering primary and specialty care
  • A 1,400-member physician management group (UC Davis Medical Group) 
  • The School of Medicine
  • The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing

The Vice Chancellor will participate in campuswide policy development and strategic implementation through membership on the Chancellor’s Leadership Council and the Council of Deans and Vice Chancellors.

About the committee

The recruitment advisory committee is led by co-chairs, Simon Atkinson, Vice Chancellor, Office of Research; and Elizabeth Morris, M.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Radiology and Chair, Council of Chairs. The committee also includes other administrators, faculty members, student and staff representatives.

The national search firm Isaacson, Miller is assisting the recruitment advisory committee in identifying potential candidates for this critical position.
