Bio

Sarah Meredith (she/hers) began her work in crisis intervention and survivor advocacy while in colleage as a volunteer for suicide prevention hotline at night and on the weekends. After graduating with degrees in psychology and biology, Sarah went to work as a victim advocate for the South Lake Tahoe Women's Center and has since spent the last 18 years working in the field of sexual assault and intimate partner violence prevention and survivor advocacy. As a certified sexual assault and domestic violence counselor, a Master Instructor for the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, and a certified yoga instructor with an emphasis on trauma-informed practices, Sarah serves as the director of the UC Davis Center for Advocacy, Resources & Education, where she’s worked for over 11 years. She incorporates trauma-informed concepts into each aspect of the work CARE does, including survivor-centered support and advocacy. She also promotes a public health approach to the prevention of gender-based violence.
